God — the first Artist — made you creative. A personal story about discovering creativity, joy, and artful living with God. For most of my life, I believed that creative people were simply born that way — and that I wasn’t one of them. I admired artists from a distance, assuming they possessed something I did not. Then one Christmas, my husband surprised me with a bucket full of oil paints, brushes, and enrollment in an oil painting class — something I never would have given myself. That gift changed everything. In this video, I share how God — the first and greatest Artist — gently awakened creativity in me and helped me see that artful living isn’t about galleries or talent. It’s about living with intention, beauty, and gratitude in everyday life. From painting to simple moments like cutting sandwiches into triangles (the way my mom taught us), creativity often shows up in small, faithful acts. When we live artfully, we reflect the God in whose image we were made. 🎨 My artwork will never hang in a gallery, but I do sell a few paintings now and then — and I even paint homes for my real estate clients. More importantly, creativity has brought unexpected joy, freedom, and worship into my life.
