Filmed June 10, 2025 Everything is bigger in Texas!! Toledo Bend Reservoir is 180,000 acres. We headed for Kurt Dove's Pro Bass Camp; Joe to coach and Michele to do media. Together, we searched around the lake for a day and a half and saw glimpses of a deep bite as these fish were starting to get into their summer pattern. Michele and I did catch some fish shallow, but it's always hard for me to resist a deep scopin' bite. I targeted fish in 15-25' around manmade brush piles using the 6" Sakamata Shad and the 7" as well. It seemed that fish really liked to follow the 7" so even though I did have it tied on to keep some fish honest, I was targeting fish with the 6" first most often. This 6 pound Texas fatty came on a 6" Silver Shiner Sakamata Shad. As usual, the rod was the same. The Jackall x Shimano collaboration rod, the Poison Ultima PU270M Medium power spinning rod produced the most crisp, responsive rod on the planet. Light bites are felt through the guides, down the blank, and all the way to the angler's hand without being absorbed somewhere in the system like with other rods. The high quality crispness of the rod blank allows for the most accurate casts. This is incredibly important when making precise casts to livescope targets. As usual, the rod didn't disappoint. The Ultima's construction is also perfect driving home a jighead when minnow fishing. Lastly, the parabolic curve of the rod blank is excellent of keeping fish pinned all the way to the boat when fishing this technique. From top to bottom, the Ultima is a thing of beauty and the only rod worth trusting this fishing technique to. I've since purchased multiple duplicates. @ShimanoNorthAmericaFishing @JACKALLSTATION @JACKALLweb
