The Erie Maritime Museum, in Erie, Pennsylvania, is dedicated to the War of 1812, including the decisive Battle of Lake Erie. The museum features the history of what led up to the War, what happened during the War, and the aftermath of the War. It features many artifacts and displays, including interactive displays that focus on the U.S.S. Niagara and the U.S.S. Lawrence, two brigs that fought in the Battle of Lake Erie. In fact, you can see the current version of the U.S. Brig Niagara just outside at her dock and there is a recreated gun deck of the Lawrence. The second floor features remnants of the U.S.S. Wolverine, formerly the U.S.S. Michigan. There is also a tribute to the many Navy Admirals who came from Erie. All in all, a very informative tour and remember, DON'T GIVE UP THE SHIP!
