This railcam is located 25.6 miles north of the Chehalis Steel Highway camera at the Olympia-Lacey (OLW) Amtrak station. The station is at milepost 32.2 on the Burlington Northern Santa Fe Seattle Sub. Train movements include BNSF trains operating between Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, and Vancouver, Washington. Rail traffic includes trains coming out of Centralia headed north as well as Union Pacific trains operating on trackage rights between Portland, Oregon, and Tacoma, Washington. This camera is owned and maintained by the Amtrak Depot Committee, a Non-Profit (501c3) organization of volunteers that actually staff the Olympia-Lacey Amtrak station. The committee was formed in 1987 to launch a successful state centennial fundraising effort that resulted in construction of the station that opened in May, 1993. The station has been staffed by volunteers in the community who meet every passenger train (including any late/delayed trains.)
