Enjoy a full-length front window ride on the Fort Collins Municipal Railway in Colorado, filmed from Car 25, as it travels the full length of Mountain Avenue from the City Park to the end of the line and back. This video captures the driver’s view as the vintage streetcar trundles through picturesque american suburban parks and streets. 🛤️ About the Fort Collins Municipal Railway The Fort Collins Municipal Railway originally operated streetcars in Fort Collins from 1919 until 1951. After years of activism and preservation work, the heritage line was revived in 1984 and today runs over a 1.5-mile restored section of Mountain Avenue between City Park and Howes Street. The line is powered by 600-volt DC overhead wire. Over time, the streetcar tracks became part of the surrounding neighborhood. The line runs through a green, tree-lined median along Mountain Avenue, bordered by single-family homes on both sides. The result is a uniquely local experience that feels like a ride through a quiet residential community rather than a city center. 🚋 About Car 25 and the Streetcar Equipment The heritage service typically operates single-truck Birney “Safety” Streetcar No. 21, which has been restored to its original condition and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. In addition, Car 25 has been recently restored and occasionally operates as part of the trolley fleet. This video provides a special perspective from the front of Car 25. The Birney design is compact, lightweight, and perfect for small-city transit systems. It can operate in both directions without turning and features reversible walk-over seat backs that let passengers face either way depending on the car’s direction of travel. 🎥 About This Video This is a small, production created with limited resources.
