We take abullet train from Xi'an to Beijing on Day 22 of our 25 day fully escorted tour of China. See every aspect of our day from breakfast to bed time. Our hotel , our restaurants our journeys our tours. Toady we leave Xian by bullet train and travel to Beijing. Our first stop is the Temple of Heaven one of Beijing's most iconic landmarks and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It is renowned for its stunning architecture and historical significance built in the 15th century during the Ming Dynasty. Nearly all You Tube tours of China are made by independent travellers. Not everyone is confident to travel independently, especially given the differences in the culture, language and vast size of China. Ours is a fully escorted 25 day tour of China with a travel company. We are traveling in a group of 19 and we will visit 12 different cities, staying at 12 different hotels plus spending 4 days cruising the Yangtze River. We travel by private coach, bullet train, planes and boats between our destinations which include, Suzhou, Shanghai, Hangzhou, Yangtze River, Guilin, Yangshou, Dali, Kunming, Lijang, Chengdu, Xi'an and Beijing. We cover approximately 4000 miles on our travels. Highlights of the tour include, The Great Wall of China, Tiananmen Square, the Summer Palace, Chengdu Panda breeding Centre, sailing the Yangtze River visiting the Three Gorges, touring Xi'an with the Terracotta Warriors. We explore the ancient cities of Lijiang and Dali and the water village of Zhujiajiao. We ascend up Jade Dragon Snow Mountain and descend in the Qingtianxia Rift valley. We enjoy a number of Chinese theatre productions including the Beijing Red Theatre, the outdoor production of Impression Lui Sanjie in Yangshou and the Xian Tang Dynasty Show. We visit a number of cultural parks and visit a Jade workshop a Silk workshop an embroidery workshop and a tea making ceremony. Every day is packed with things to see, taste and experience. We share what all our meals are like, the hotels we stay in and the people we meet along the way. It's an opportunity to see what traveling as part of an organised tour is like and learning the pros and cons of this compared to traveling independently.
