I love how much you guys enjoy my Marc Ribot style lead studies, where we delve deep into the elements that make up his style, tracing the roots all the way back to Django Reinhardt, Hubert Sumlin etc, but in this lesson we just straight up analyse some of his finest, most iconic work; his lead parts from Tom Waits' "Jockey Full of Bourbon" from the Rain Dogs album. I'll take you through the intro and his solo as we pick apart the how, the why, the what and where exactly these ideas come from and how they fit in with the bigger picture of the harmony. We also spend some time speaking about proper technique and tone for this style. All in all, a fantastic piece to work on that'll sharpen your ability with triads, arpeggios and the harmonic minor scale!
