For twenty-one years, Anatoly Slivko was the pride of Nevinnomyssk. An Honored Teacher of the RSFSR. A deputy of the city council. A master of sports in mountain tourism. Parents fought to get their sons into his prestigious "Chergid" tourist club, where he taught hundreds of boys survival skills, discipline, and mountaineering. The city celebrated him as a hero. Colleagues admired his dedication. No one suspected the monster hiding behind the medals and certificates. On December 28th, 1985 - his 47th birthday - everything unraveled. Police arrested Slivko at his club, and he furiously protested: "You've arrested a shock worker of labor and a deputy!" But when investigators found the hidden compartment, his confidence evaporated. Inside were more than forty hours of videotapes and hundreds of photographs documenting unspeakable crimes. Between 1964 and 1985, Anatoly Slivko murdered seven boys between the ages of 11 and 15. Nikolai Dobryshev. Alexei Kovalenko. An unidentified teenager. Alexander Nesmeyanov. Andrei Pogasyan - just eleven years old. Sergei Fatnev. And Sergei Pavlov, whose disappearance finally exposed the killer. But these seven murders were only part of the horror. More than fifty children were subjected to his twisted "experiments" - manipulated into signing secrecy agreements, dressed in Pioneer uniforms, strangled or drugged until they lost consciousness, then violated while Slivko filmed everything. This documentary tells the complete story of the Nevinnomyssk Maniac. We examine his cursed birth in 1938, when his mother tried to terminate the pregnancy. We reveal the childhood trauma that scarred him - witnessing a German soldier murder a boy in Pioneer uniform during World War II. We analyze the 1961 traffic accident that triggered his deadly obsession, fusing that childhood memory with sexual deviance into an unstoppable compulsion. You'll discover how Slivko built the perfect trap by establishing his tourist club and spending years constructing an impeccable reputation that made him untouchable. We expose the precise methodology of his crimes - the careful victim selection, the psychological manipulation, the elaborate rituals recreating the image of a dying boy in uniform. We reveal why the Soviet system failed to stop him despite missing children, survivor testimonies, and clear patterns connecting all victims to his club. The documentary follows investigator Tamara Langueva's determined pursuit despite bureaucratic resistance, the dramatic search and arrest, Slivko's confession when confronted with video evidence, and the shocking psychiatric evaluations that found him legally sane. We conclude with his trial, death sentence, and execution by firing squad in September 1989. This is more than a crime story. It's a chilling examination of how reputation becomes a shield, how authority enables abuse, and how an entire city can fail to see the predator among them. Seven boys died. Dozens more carry the scars forever. And for twenty-one years, the teacher they trusted was filming their nightmare. ⚠️ CONTENT WARNING: This documentary contains detailed discussions of violent crimes against children, including murder and sexual abuse.
