10/1/12 -- At 1615 hours, Schuylkill County Communications dispatched Box 44 for the address of 1342 W. Norwegian St. for a report of a structure fire. First arriving units found a home in the middle of the row with heavy fire showing from the front of the building. Multiple 1-3/4″ hand lines were stretched to knock down the fire on the exterior of the home. A line was then taken interior to attack the remaining fire. The home suffered heavy fire damage to the first floor with smoke and water damage throughout the house. Fire damage to the exposures was limited to the exterior with minor smoke and water damage on the interior. The fire was brought under control in approximately 30 minutes and units began to clear around 1730. The fire is currently under investigation.
