From astronauts, pilots, mountain climbers to deep-sea divers all have one thing in common, they need to consider the effects of oxygen pressure. Even at sea level when the barometric pressure rises on a sunny day our body can intake an extra 7% of oxygen. Recreational divers are responsible for using oxygen (within nitrox) at far greater pressures than are used in our hospitals, both as a diving gas and as a treatment of gas-bubble-related illnesses.
