School’s out, Summer is here… it’s time for everyone’s favorite outdoor activities ☀️👙🏖💕 Let’s talk about keeping our skin safe when doing medical grade beauty treatments… 🧴 I get this question all the time… If both Microneedling and Laser Resurfacing treat skin texture irregularities and wrinkles while stimulating collagen… Then which one should I do? 🤔👩🏻‍⚕️ Here’s the thing… If you’re a sun lover, like many Floridians 😜 Microneedling would be the SAFEST option… Direct sunlight exposure pre/post laser treatment is a No-No 2 weeks before/after… Sun avoidance pre/post Microneedling is minimal… depending on how your skin heals, about a couple of days… 💖💕 Why? Heat is trapped in your skin post sun exposure… if we are introducing more heat, like from a laser… we might accidentally cause the skin to burn 😩🥵🔥 I also tell clients… if you have lots of creasing, let’s say texture irregularity is moderate to severe, we may consider initiating laser treatments first with long term microneedling as maintenance 👌💕 Overall it’s best to come in for an in person evaluation to discuss goals, budget, and what the best customized treatment is for you 🤓💗
