In this video, Dr. Laura Steelman, one of our founding pediatricians in Jacksonville, shares why she’s dedicated her life to caring for kids. With more than 15 years of experience in pediatrics and a deep background in developmental psychology, she brings both clinical expertise and a personal understanding of what families need to feel supported. As both a doctor and a parent, she understands how important it is for caregivers to feel heard and supported. Her wish for every family is that they feel comfortable talking to her about their child’s health, knowing that she’s really listening and working to address any worries you or your child might have. Dr. Steelman talks about what it means to care for the whole child, including physical health, emotional well-being, self-esteem, and mental health. Outside the clinic, Dr. Steelman lives with her husband, two grown sons, three cats, and tends to a two-acre garden and four beehives.
