We put the SnowFire KAGE plow system to the ultimate test on Feb. 15 as it took on a parking lot in Osceola, Wisconsin, that hasn't been plowed all winter. The area had received significant snowfall in the early part of the winter and then had several days with temperatures above 40 degrees Fahrenheit before refreezing again. Then, to top it off, more than an inch of rain fell the day before plowing the lot, leaving a wet, dense, slushy messy, with plenty of ice mixed in. We used the KAGE SnowFire plow on a Cat® 908M Compact Wheel Loader, which started by plowing the perimeter of the lot. In the low-lying areas, there were spots where there was water several inches deep under the snow. The two-in-one snow pusher and snow blade system not only scraped pavement surface, breaking up the ice and pushing the heavy, dense and wet snow, but it also acted much like a squeegee as it pushed the deep water in front of the plow. The ability to switch back and forth quickly between an angle plow blade to a containment box plow allowed for more aggressive attacks and harder snowpack areas while still being able to easy maneuver and stack the snow in the desired areas.
