Making a hexagonal die holder on an engineers lathe without using a broach

Construction of a tailstock die holder for making threads required making adapters with hexagonal holes to take the hexagonal dies. Although it is possible to make a broach for this one-off project it would be a lot more work than making a hexagon on the lathe. For this project I used lathe attachments which have been presented in my previous videos. These include the die holder itself, the use of a small circular saw blade as an indexing wheel, and use of a power drill mounted in a boring bar holder on the quick change tool post to drill holes offset from the center.
