Ordinary Americans feel more powerless than ever in modern times. Over 70% believe the political and economic systems work for powerful interests at their expense. And AI is further concentrating power, resources and money into the hands of a few. The Grand Bargain Project is designed to reverse this growing concentration of power -- starting now. The project team has developed a package of 39 political and economic reforms that 83% of voters, left, right and center recently told nonpartisan pollster YouGov, “We want Congress to make this Grand Bargain a priority.” The Grand Bargain WebApp will enable ordinary voters to place unrelenting pressure on members of Congress to turn the 39 GB reforms into legislation in the ensuing months. One GB reform would establish an independent agency to evaluate how each AI initiative is promoting progress for ordinary Americans, such as improving skills, health, number of jobs and job quality.
