This video is called “Engineering Standards.” It is the 14th video in the Engineering Design, Modeling and Graphics series, and is brought to you by http://www.cadmodelinghub.com/. This video instructs new and aspiring mechanical engineers, aerospace engineers, and automotive engineers on three types of engineering standard they will confront during their career, i.e. International, National and Company or Corporate Standards. These modeling and drafting standards control many aspects of how 3D models and 2D drawing are respectively virtually built and digitally represented. This video provides the motivation and background as to why engineering standards are coupled with the mastery of topics such as engineering design, 3D design, 3D modeling and drafting of mechanical components. The serious student will use this lecture as a point of departure into deeper investigations of the ASME and ISO modeling and drafting standards. The subject of Computer-aided Design (CAD), sometimes referred to as 3D CAD, is the tool by which we apply the ASME and ISO modeling and drafting standards as we move a product through its standardized engineering design process.
