Come along for a deep-forest adventure in Tanjung Puting National Park, Central Kalimantan. In this video, we take you on the full trek to the Pondok Tanggui feeding station, one of the most important conservation sites for the Bornean Orangutan. The journey is just as beautiful as the destination. We’ll hike through the dense tropical canopy, listening to the sounds of the Borneo rainforest and looking for hidden wildlife along the way. Once we reach Pondok Tanggui, we get an up-close look at these incredible primates in their natural habitat. Watching the orangutans swing through the trees to reach the station is a powerful reminder of why we must protect these "People of the Forest." Tanjung Puting Trekking Essentials If you're planning a visit to the Pondok Tanggui feeding station or trekking through Tanjung Puting National Park, here is what I recommend packing to stay comfortable and safe: 1. Footwear: Wear sturdy hiking shoes or trekking sandals with excellent grip. The trails can be steep and often become slippery or flooded after rain. 2. Clothing: Despite the heat and humidity, long-sleeved shirts and long pants are highly recommended. They provide a vital barrier against aggressive mosquitoes and those infamous fire ants! 3. Protection: Apply a strong mosquito repellent (DEET-based works best here) before you head into the forest. 4. Gear: Bring a waterproof dry bag for your camera gear—the tropical downpours can start anytime without warning! #TanjungPuting #Orangutan #Borneo #JungleTrek #IndonesiaTravel #WildlifeConservation #PondokTanggui #CentralKalimantan ------------------------------- Recording date: 12 December 2024 Location: Camp Pondok Tanggui, Tanjung Puting National Park, Central Kalimantan, Indonesia ------------------------------- Softwares and Equipments used to make this video: 1.
