⭐ Dal Pithi / Dal ki Dulhan Recipe (Traditional Bihar UP Style) 🧾 Ingredients For Dal: Masoor Dal – 2 cup Water – 4–5 cups Onion -1(chopped) Tomato – 1 (chopped) Green chilli – 2 Ginger – 1 tsp (grated) Turmeric – ½ tsp Red chilli powder – 1 tsp Cumin seeds – 1 tsp Mustard oil / ghee – 2 tbsp Salt – to taste Coriander – for garnish For Pithi / Dulhan (Dough): Wheat flour – 2 cups Salt – ½ tsp Ajwain – ½ tsp Water – as needed A little ghee – for greasing --- 🍲 Step-by-step Instructions 1️⃣ Prepare the Dough 1. In a bowl add wheat flour, salt and ajwain. 2. Add water gradually and knead a medium-soft dough. 3. Grease with a little ghee and rest for 10 minutes. --- 2️⃣ Prepare the Dal 1. Wash masoor dal well. 2. In a cooker add dal, turmeric, salt, ginger, tomato, green chilli and water. 3. cook dal in a big pan 3️⃣ Make Pithi / Dulhan 1. Take a small ball of dough. 2. Roll into small puri-like shape. 3. Fold from all 4 sides and pinch the center (like a boat or dumpling). You can also make small square or flower-shaped pithi. --- 4️⃣ Add Pithi to Dal 1. Keep dal boiling on medium flame. 2. Drop each pithi slowly into the dal. 3. Stir occasionally so they don’t stick. 4. Cook for 12–15 minutes until the pithis are fully cooked and soft. --- 5️⃣ Add Tadka 1. Heat mustard oil / ghee. 2. Add cumin, red chilli powder. Add chopped onion Garlic Ginger Add chopped tomatoes 3. Pour this tadka into the boiling dal. 4. Mix gently. --- 6️⃣ Final Touch Garnish with coriander. Add a little ghee on top for extra flavour. --- 🍽️ Serve With Desi ghee Lemon Instant pickle
