Thai Basil Beef is super quick and easy and busting with flavor! It’s made with ground beef and lots of fresh basil! Serve it over some steamed rice and you can forget the take out!! *Updated* Thai Basil Beef Ingredients 1 1/2 lbs ground beef 1 small onion, sliced 1 red bell pepper, sliced 3 garlic cloves, minced 3 tablespoons soy sauce 1 1/2 tablespoons fish sauce 1/4 cup water 1/4 cup brown sugar Handful of chopped Thai basil (or regular basil) Optional- minced Thai chilies or crushed red pepper flakes Directions Combine soy sauce, fish sauce, water and brown sugar in a bowl. Heat oil in a pan over medium high heat and sauté ground beef. Cook until cook through, about 4 minutes. Drain excess liquid. Add more oil along with bell peppers, onions and garlic and cook until slightly soften, about 2 minutes. Stir in sauce and bring to a boil. Continue to cook over medium high heat until the sauce has reduced, about 2 minutes. Remove from heat and stir in basil and minced Thai chilies or red pepper flakes if using. Serve with rice.
