It's time to break the link between gross stuff and immorality. When we are ashamed to talk about our bodies or explore the natural world because it's "gross", it has a negative impact on our health and our education, says Anna Rothschild. Anna is the creator and host of Gross Science ( / grossscienceshow , where each week she explores bizarre stories from the slimy, smelly, creepy world of science. More generally, Anna’s a multimedia producer and science journalist with a deep curiosity, a passion for education, and expertise in all areas of production: Anna directs, shoots, edits, animates, narrates, and hosts. Anna is committed to fostering diversity in both science and media. Anna was awarded the American Institute of Physics’ 2012 Science Communication Award for New Media, and their 2015 award for Broadcast/New Media. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at http://ted.com/tedx
