Before TikTok, before unboxings, and long before anyone said “content creator” with a straight face, there was this: Back in 2010, ahead of George’s Reunion, Allysun Wunderland delivered a home-shopping fever dream that still echoes through Midtown lore. Decked out in sequins and surrounded by enough bejeweled garments to trigger a disco ball, she pitched fashion with equal parts elegance and senior-care awareness. The entire production—brilliantly written, filmed, edited, and mastered by Ty Philips—was a love letter to drag culture, late-night TV absurdity, and rhinestones with questionable adhesives. (If it causes a rash, just cream it and keep dancing.) And yes, that’s the same Ty Philips who now shapes every word and sound cue as the scriptwriter and audio wizard behind Friends of George’s today. He’s been putting polish on chaos and rhinestones on reality for over a decade—and this video is proof. Rewatch it now for the fashion. Stay for the punchlines. And remember: in 2010, this was our internet. --- TRANSCRIPT: Next on QVC, Allysun Wunderland: The social event of the season is coming up October 23rd at Minglewood Hall. It's the George's Disco Reunion. And it could not come at a more opportune time, for this is the time my new line of clothing is coming out, all designed by me, little ole Allysun Wunderland, and sewn by Asians in New York City. Imagine, if you will, entering the ballroom in a stunning creation. You know, the lighting's going to be dark, and all those older men out there, honey, their eyesight's failing a little bit, and you might want to wear something a little attraction to it, so they can find you in the dark. You never know, Mr. Right might be right around the corner, you bump right into him, or you pick him up on his walker. Oh Lord, it could be beautiful. It could be a Cinderella story of sorts. I want you all to look at this lovely detail on this lovely garment. Oh, bejeweled and bedazzled. You will never, ever see, no two garments are alike. If it brings out a rash, oh, don't worry about it. Just rub some cream on it, keep on going. Trust me, it'll go away. I know. People are coming from around the globe, from London and Florida, and I think over up in Jackson, Tennessee. There's gonna be so many people, you want to look your entertainment. Oh, entertainment. Entertainers from way back. Folks, you will all know and love and can't wait to see. Oh, shipping and handling are a reasonable price. Because I, I just know how it is, all you on a fixed income, those on social security. Don't worry, it will not break your budget. It will not. Honey, it'll come right to your front door of your house, your apartment, your trailer house, assisted living or nursing home. Can you imagine going to the door thinking there's just gonna be your medication and there's a lovely package, a parcel, if you will, from Allysun Wunderland, of a lovely garment to wear to the reunion. Now, I tell you what, all you folks out there don't have to worry, if you're incontinent and you have to wear an adult incontinent pad, I have taken all this into consideration in my design. A colostomy bag, you're just all good. Catheter, you're covered. I've taken all these things into consideration. You know, it is a reunion from sometime ago. Go on to minglewoodhall.com to order your tickets. And you want to do that real quick because they're gonna run out in a hurry. I just know they will cause this is the event of the season. Come out to the George's Disco Reunion at Minglewood Hall, October 23rd. Do not miss it and do, don't you miss out on these wonderful outfits. I'll be looking for you. I'll see you there. Sug, I want to know what you got on. friendsofgeorges.org
