A safari visit to Murchison Falls in July finds a great variety of wildlife, including the following: elephants (note especially large bachelor herd), Rothchild's giraffe, hippopotanuses, Ugandan kob (large numbers), the shoebill (five seen; one is observed capturing and eating a lungfish!), saddlebill heron, goliath heron, pied kingfisher, malachite kingfisher, baboon, pata monkeys, white-faced whistling ducks, and many more. Besides traveling in the park on a land-based safari vehicle, we also go up the Victoria Nile to Murchison Falls as well as down the Victoria Nile to the Lake Albert delta.
