Gassco CEO: The Future Pipeline Infrastructure. Frode Leversund at ETC2023

Frode Leversund, CEO of Gassco, kicks off the session titled "The Role of Infrastructure and Storage" at the 2023 NTNU Energy Transition Conference. Leversund presents the pipeline infrastructure in Norway, which has over 9,000 kilometers of pipelines that transport gas to Germany, France, and the UK, and highlights the need for interlinked energy systems and the importance of collaboration, competence, innovation, and technology. An example is given of a project launched in March 2022 that explores the establishment of infrastructure from Norway to Germany for the production and transportation of hydrogen, including its distribution, storage, and consumption. The project also involves the removal of CO2, demonstrating the interlinking of energy systems.
