Highlights of Bolivia, Uruguay and Easter Island (Rapa Nui) We open with a surreal filming of the landscape of Salar de Uyuni in Bolivia. This is an expansive, flat plain that is made entirely of salt and nothing else. Vigoroso lies on the ground with his feet stretched out in front of him. It looks like he is laying in snow, except that it is salt. The sky is a deep blue with no clouds. Nine other travelers and two vehicles can be seen off in the distance in the shot. Mountains can be seen in the very far distance. The next scene is from the Bolivian Altiplano. It is of natural vents pumping out volcanic gases and vapors into the air from holes in the ground. It is also a surreal sight. Next is from the heart of the Cerro Rico mountain in Bolivia. This is where the Spanish Empire mined most of their silver. We see a miner running up the cart tracks from deep inside the mine. We now shift further south to Cabo Polonio, Uruguay. This is an enchanting coastal town famous for its lighthouse, sea lions and chill natural vibes by the sea. Here we see the lighthouse in action with its light circling round and round at dusk. Next is also from Cabo Polonio, but at night. We see a samba band in full swing, preparing for the Carnaval festival coming up in a few weeks. And last, we have a clip from Rapa Nui, better known to the world as Easter Island. This is of a Polynesian cultural festival that featured performing groups from all over Polynesia. Although none of the island's famous statues are seen in this clip, we do see a decorative recreation of one on stage. There are many spectators and the atmosphere is very festive.
