For our second episode of Dungeon Synth Sunday, we find ourselves in a shadowy realm occupied by the intriguing character known as Vanen, with a sound that takes us back to the turn of the 2000s wyrd folk noise projects that Aquarius Records specialised in getting us addicted to. This skewed, disorienting music summons some essence of Furze, mixes a little ash of Varghkoghargasmal, and spirit of Pocahaunted into a demo themed around cultural ideas of afterlife, space, and her own vividly dark imagination. The demo comprises four tracks, but the release includes two bonus tracks, which Vanum assures us can be ignored entirely, and you may forget that they even exist….in compelling idiosyncratic fashion.
