Do “it” yourself, no matter what the “it” is, doesn’t have to be difficult, especially when you’re making something for your fur babies! Here's how to make a pet bed at home. I have listed all the supplies you will need. It's easy if you watch the video and see how everything is assembled. Fabric Sewing Machine or Needle and Thread Fiberfill or stuffing Measuring Tape or ruler Scissors Choose a piece of fabric that pleases you. Lay out a large sheet of paper ( the back of gift wrap paper will do, and mark your shapes with a tape measure and marker. Using your pattern cut 2 pieces of fabric into the exact same shape Draw a circle from the center. The circle should be slightly smaller than the size of your dog. This will become the centerpiece of the bed, and will create a nest-like dip in the dog bed. Sew and Stuff the center section Then divide the bed into sections and stitch up the sides like a flower petal. Stuff each opening, then sew closed. Attach a 2 inch strip of fabric around the entire edge of the bed. Fold over and sew closed. You will now have a 1 inch pocket and you can run a piece of ribbon or rope to pull closed so the bed will be round. Enjoy! Depending on what fabrics and stuffing you use, you can wash your pet bed and place outside to dry.
