Join us as we make our way to The Way and set off on the Camino del Norte, the Northern route in August 2023. We spend a day in France, in St Jean-de-Luz to be precise, before crossing the border to Irun. There we spend ‘Day 0’ getting organised and amped up at our first Albergue for Peregrinos. Day 1 sends us off to little Santa Ana Donativo in Pasages de San Juan, where we become acquainted with fellow pilgrims, Alex from Germany and Roberto from Italy. The four of us walk together to San Sebastian on Day 2 Accommodation in this video St Jean de Luz - Hotel Agur Deneri, private room. Paid €87 Irun - Jakobi Pilgrim Hostel (albergue), 60 beds total. Donativo including breakfast (we paid €15 each) Pasages de San Juan - Santa Ana Albergue, 14 beds total. Donativo (we paid €15 each) San Sebastian - Koisi private hostel, shared a 6 bed dorm. Paid €74 Notes from our budget for these days - it's in Australian dollars 27/8/23 spent $104 on treats from the market & yummy tapas dinner & drinks. Not including accom 28/8/23 spent $287 posting parcels, groceries, overpriced dinner & donativo 29/8/23 spent $163 including dinner (we paid for our friend too) & donativo 30/8/23 spent $113 splashing out on good food.
