In this tutorial, we will show you how to add Optifine to Minecraft with Forge in order to use Optifine with other Forge mods. This will let you get shaders with Forge or reduce lag when you have mods installed in Minecraft. Either way, you will be able to use all of Optifine’s features with Forge mods in Minecraft 1.16.3. So, let’s go ahead and get Optifine installed with Forge! The first step of adding Optifine to Forge is actually downloading and installing Forge. You can find a link to our official Forge 1.16.3 tutorial in the description above. Once you are there, click the ‘Download Forge’ button. You will then be taken to Forge’s official website where you want to make sure the 1.16.3 version is select. If it is, just go under ‘download latest’, and click the Universal/.jar download. You will then be taken to AdFocus where you want to wait a few seconds and click the red skip button in the top right. Forge will then begin downloading. You will need to keep/save the file depending on your browser. After you have Forge downloaded, we need to get it installed. Do this by right-clicking on the Forge file you downloaded, click on ‘Open With’, and click on ‘Java’. Click okay, and the Forge Mod System Installer will open. Click on ‘install client’, and click ‘okay’. Forge will then install into Minecraft 1.16.3! We aren’t done though; we still need to get Optifine installed with Forge. The first step of this is downloading Optifine. You can find the Optifine download link in the description above. When you click that link, it will actually take you to our website. From here, click the green ‘Download Optifine’ button. That will take you to the official Optifine download page where you want to find the ‘Minecraft 1.16.3’ section. Under that, find the most recent version of Optifine, and click the ‘mirror’ link to the right of it. That will take you to a page where you will see a ‘Download Optifine_1.16.3’ link. Click that, and Optifine will begin downloading. Now, we can finally install Optifine with Forge. To do this, hit the Windows key on your keyboard and ‘r’ at the exact same time. This will open your ‘Run’ application. In the text box here, type ‘%appdata%’, and hit enter. You roaming folder will appear. You will see a .minecraft folder here. Open that, and you should have a ‘mods’ folder. If you don’t have a mods folder, just create one! All you need to from here to install Optifine with Forge is open your mods, and drag-and-drop Optifine into your mods folder. It is that easy. You have now added Optifine to Forge. You aren’t completely done though. You still need to open up the Minecraft launcher, click the little arrow next to the play button, select Forge, and click ‘Play’. Minecraft will now open up with Optifine and Forge. Fair warning though, Optifine won’t appear on your mods tab.
