Welcome to my YouTube channel – Explore with Sanika! 🇯🇵✨ In today’s video, I’m sharing Day 2 of our Kyoto, Japan trip. Kyoto is truly one of my most favorite cities in Japan, and I absolutely loved exploring it. Our day started a little late, but the first stop was the Sagano Romantic Train – a beautiful and scenic train ride along the Hozugawa River. This is a very popular activity in Kyoto, and the views are stunning. Our train was around late morning, but I’d definitely recommend choosing an early morning slot for even better scenery. There’s also an option to return by river boat, but due to limited time, we opted for the train ride both ways. My son absolutely loved this experience. Next, we headed to Iwatayama Monkey Park. This involves a 20–25 minute hike uphill, so you can skip it if hiking isn’t your thing. But since my son enjoys such activities, we went ahead. You can buy food at the top and feed the monkeys, which was a fun experience for him—though I personally found it quite exhausting! After that, we visited Tenryu-ji Temple, one of the most famous temples near Arashiyama. We explored the temple and then walked through the Arashiyama Bamboo Forest, which I truly loved. However, it does get very crowded, so visiting early in the morning is best for a peaceful experience. Our last stop was the Golden Pavilion (Kinkaku-ji), but unfortunately, we reached about 10–15 minutes late, as most attractions in Japan close by 5 PM. This is a small reminder to plan your day carefully while traveling in Japan. Overall, the day was amazing but quite tiring, and most importantly, my son had a wonderful time—which always makes the trip special for me.
