It has taken four years and a couple of miscarriages but at last, our little rainbow baby is on the way. I'm now 14 weeks pregnant and it feels good to have made it to the second trimester. This is an unassisted pregnancy, meaning I am not seeing any doctors, midwives, doulas etc. I feel fit and healthy and want to continue my healthy pregnancy without any medical interference. If things change and I start to feel ill, I will seek whatever medical help I may need, but I am not sick and do not want to be treated as if I am. If my body can conceive naturally, it can also be pregnant and give birth naturally. It feels good to be 44 and have a natural pregnancy! I think it's important to remember pregnancy is not an illness. After 40 years of age, pregnancy can take a little longer, but it's still more than worth the wait.
