TNG Community Services operates the Kensington Market Overdose Prevention Site (KMOPS), an essential supervised consumption site (SCS) in Toronto. SCSs play a crucial role in providing a safe and supervised space to people who use substances, reducing the harm caused by overdose, and connecting people to healthcare, counselling and other essential services. As the provincial government pursues policies threatening to close SCSs like KMOPS, we remain dedicated to defending these life-saving services. KMOPS is a cornerstone of harm reduction, offering support and care to people in our community who face substance use challenges. In this video, Chana Weinstein, one of our board members, discusses the heart of what makes supervised consumption sites like KMOPS so essential. She highlights how these services provide immediate support and create long-term connections to healthcare, offering a pathway to hope in the face of the overdose crisis.
