Hi Geospatial Enthusiast! Script: https://code.earthengine.google.com/8... In this video, I show you how to map urban sprawl over multiple years using Landsat 4, 5, 7, 8, and 9 imagery. The area that I use is Jakarta Metropolitan Area and the years that I use are 1990, 1995, 2000, 2005, 2010, 2015, and 2020. The workflow started by creating a yearly composite for each year, then creating NDBI and MNDWI index. With the index, we could classify the built-up area. The value of built-up of each year is the value of each year. The built area then stack on top of one another where the oldest one is on top. Finally, to calculate each year's urban area, I am using ee.Image.pixelArea(). The chart of the growth can be created using ui.Chart.
