Jamiroquai - 'If I Like It, I Do It' Bass Cover (Stuart Zender on bass)

This great song appeared on Emergency on Planet Earth, the band’s debut album, and the world’s first introduction to the bass work of a young Stuart Zender. This is one of the more complex basslines on the album: it’s busy, heavily syncopated, and there are many variations on the main themes. In short, there’s a lot of bass goodness to get your teeth into here. I recorded this line using a Zon Sonus bass strung with Rotosound strings. I favoured the neck pickup slightly and backed off the treble a little bit. The bass was recorded via a SansAmp Bass Driver DI, all controls set flat.
