Due to continued rapid growth of their Managed Security Services Practice, they are looking to hire an experienced Security Operations Center (SOC) Team Lead. This is a great opportunity to join this highly sought after team in a senior role, work with the latest cyber security technologies, and take your career (and compensation) to the next level. Position: The role will focus on designing and building out/expanding the a state-of-the-art Security Operations Center as well as leading the team (as player/coach) responsible for the daily operations of the SOC. You and the team will investigate, respond, and proactively patch solutions provided by the company into our mid-market and enterprise class clients. Other responsibilities will include troubleshooting and resolving escalated issues involving data, security, wireless, voice/collaboration, and video issues in deployed or supported networks. The ideal candidate will be capable of addressing all the mentioned technologies, speak to them professionally, plan for and implement these solutions, document the finalized deployments, and hand-off to the client in collaboration with the SOC, Engineering, and Sales Teams. Helping to research and design the buildout and expansion of the Security Operations Center, working closely with the NOC leadership team. Reviewing alerts, alarms, dashboards, and reports to determine relevancy and urgency of cybersecurity threats, vulnerabilities, and incidents. Identifying, evaluating, mitigating, and reporting on security vulnerabilities in systems and the software that runs on them. Utilizing technologies including SIEM, AV, EDR, IDS, IPS, email gateways, and web gateways to detect and respond to cybersecurity threats. Collaborating with other teams to assess risk and coordinate response. Recommending detection mechanisms for exploit and or intrusion related attempts. Providing subject matter expertise on network-based attacks, network traffic analysis, and intrusion methodologies. Analyzing attachments and URLs for malicious code. Executing operational processes in support of response efforts to identified security incidents. Performing deep dive incident analysis by correlating data from various sources and determine if a system or data is impacted. Developing a working knowledge of all operating standards, practices, and procedures. Practical expertise with of networking; TCP/IP Fundamentals, knowledge of network level exploits. Strong understanding of IDS/IPS technologies, trends, processes, and methodologies. Experience Needed: Must have 5+ years of security operations/SOC experience CISSP and/or CISM certifications preferred Must have good network and communications systems troubleshooting experience Experience with APIs and programmability Excellent analytical ability and communications skills.
