OVERLAND TRACK. A Sandy Weather Adventure. Day 2. Waterfall Valley to Windermere.

A cold night at Waterfall Valley. Ice on everything, sparkling and glittering... Spent a little time pottering around Waterfall Valley before heading off. Plan was to have a swim in Lake Windermere. I didn't do the Lake Will side trip as I lost my Pack Cover when I fell into the bushes up Cradle Mountain way. Very aware of the Currawongs and their clever ways. They were certainly everywhere, but nothing like crows. Much like our Qld Currawongs, except ours don't know about back pack zips and food stashes! Ha Ha! Ranger at Waterfall Valley, Darren, also joined us at Windermere, a very friendly helpful man with a beautiful eye for the landscape. So many special photographs in his collection. Take note of the height of the orange markers across the open plains. Imagine it covered in snow!
