2023年7月、Chageは高知県の四万十川へ天然物のうなぎ漁を体験するために川漁師を訪ねました。 そこでは、うなぎをとるために考え出された筒状の罠、「コロバシ」を使った漁がなされており、この動画（〜仕掛け編〜 / 前編）ではその仕掛け作業を体験しました。 四万十川は、日本の三大清流の一つとして知られる自然豊かなとても美しく綺麗な川で、地元の川漁師や地元住民にとっては古くからの大切な川です。 しかし、そこで毎日働く川漁師である黒澤氏は、近年の川の様子が昔と比べて大きく変わってしまったと感じています。 この変化の背景には、地球温暖化はもとより、人間の活動による上流部の山の切り崩しなどが引き起こす土砂の流出があります。これが下流に与える影響は計り知れず、四万十川の生態系にも大きな影響を及ぼしています。 四万十川の清流で育まれるうなぎは今でも最高品質のものとして評価されていますが、漁師たちは環境の変化が引き起こしている現在と今後の川の危機を感じています。 Chageは今回のうなぎ漁の体験を通じて、そこで実際に生活している川漁師の話を聞きながら、自然と人間の共存の重要性を感じ、環境問題への関心を更に深めるきっかけとなりました。 この動画が、変わりゆく自然環境に対して我々がどう意識し行動していくべきかを感じとっていただけるキッカケとなることを願っています。 In July 2023, Chage visited river fishermen in the Shikoku region of Kochi Prefecture to experience natural eel fishing along the Shimanto River. There, a fishing method involving a cylindrical trap known as "Colobashi" is employed to catch eels, and in this video (〜Setting Phase〜 / Part 1), Chage participated in the process of setting up these traps. The Shimanto River is renowned as one of Japan's three great clear streams, known for its natural beauty and pristine waters. For local river fishermen and residents, it holds immense historical and cultural significance. However, Mr. Kurosawa, who works daily as a river fisherman there, has noticed significant changes in the river's condition compared to the past. Behind these changes lies not only global warming but also the sediment runoff caused by human activities such as deforestation in the upstream mountains. The downstream impacts of this phenomenon are immeasurable and are affecting the ecosystem of the Shimanto River. Although eels raised in the clear waters of the Shimanto River are still highly regarded for their top-notch quality, the fishermen are acutely aware of the environmental shifts that have triggered a crisis for the river's present and future. Through this eel fishing experience, Chage had the opportunity to listen to the stories of the river fishermen who reside there. This exposure underscored the importance of coexistence between nature and humanity, further deepening his concern for environmental issues.
