This home movie clip shows the 400 block of State Street as it looked circa 1964. Filmed by the Albers family, it documents the Albers Drug Company's move out of their 400 State Street location, into a newly built facility. In a 2009 News-Sentinel article, Albers remembered some of the other businesses along the block, where Marble Alley Lofts is located today, as Reeder Chevrolet Co.; Willys-Knight car dealership; Tennessee Mill & Mine Supply Co.; Athletic House; Roberts Office Supply Co.; Hall-Tate Clothing Co.; Galyon Printing Co.; Brakebill-Baldwin car repair shop; Dr. Homer Hamilton's veterinarian clinic; Baker-Himel School. Toward the beginning of the clip you can see the Cal Johnson building at the left, and around the 1:30 minute mark, across the street from Albers, the recently built promenade at the back of the Woodruff building is visible. From the Ed "Bud" Albers Jr. Collection at TAMIS.
