In this video I would like to make the suggestion to allow players to flee or outstealth onslaughts. And I list the 2 major problems with how they currently work: 1. They take away tactical choice, the player is always forced to fight, there is no way to do a fighting retreat or to hide 2. They can strategically stunlock players on some maps, because escapes after hard battles are virtually impossible, if a single alien spots the squad, they get locked to fight where they can not win. Because the timer only allows for 2 running gunbattles per "tape" before an onslaught triggers. If onslaughts would allow for escapes or hiding, then the game would preserve the tactical gameplay it spends so much time teaching the player early in the game ("fighting retreats"). And the game is stilly very hard on nightmare even if there is no onslaught triggered.
