We are on a Route 66 roadtrip in our Ford Transit Connect micro camper van and although the Grand Canyon is not directly on Route 66 it is close enough! We couldn't pass up the opportunity to visit! We rode the shuttle bus, hiked in the canyon, saw the sunrise and camped just outside the park for free! We were only at the Grand Canyon for 24 hours and then we were back to Route 66 proper to finish off the last of our roadtrip!
