Here is a short chase of the BNSF Y-LAC1121 Malabar Switcher from Malabar Yard to San Pedro Jct in Vernon, CA featuring industrial and yard switching, powered by a pair of EMD GP60M-3s painted in BNSF's Heritage 4 paint scheme. We first catch the train crossing 49th Street - former site of a wigwag crossing signal that was removed in 2021. The engines are running lite around Malabar Yard to shove against two tank cars for Darling Delaware - the furthest north industry on the BNSF Harbor Sub. We follow the train to the industry and back to the yard, where they will build their outbound consist to transfer at the Los Angeles Junction Railway (LAJ) A Yard. Waiting for the Malabar Job at San Pedro Junction on the San Bernardino Sub, a BNSF port stack train throttles up eastbound out of the Alameda Corridor. The local soon catches up, clears the switch at West Hobart, then shoves down the UP San Pedro Sub connector to the LAJ, with an ex-BN caboose leading, now serving as a shoving platform. We conclude our chase here, as the local will spend a couple hours switching inside the yard. Thanks for watching! © 2026 LARailProductions
