BOX OF TALES is a Kathak dance production choreographed in the Jaipur Gharana style, conceptualized and directed in 2023. The work draws from the Rajasthani folk epic of Dhola-Maru, interpreted through the traditional storytelling form of Kavad Bachna. The choreography has been developed under the mentorship of Pt. Rajendra Gangani, and the musical score is composed by eminent Sarod maestro Sunondo Mukherjee, supported by a team of accomplished classical musicians and dancers. Since its creation, the production has been staged at multiple venues and cultural events, receiving appreciation for its integration of classical technique with folk narrative. The performance seeks to connect historical storytelling practices with the classical dance framework, offering a layered experience of Rajasthani heritage.
