It had rained during our drive, but the soil content there dried quickly and gave us a nice break in the usually long drive to Marquette. We were instructed to stick to the outer loop and head counter clockwise for the easiest to follow route (looking for black satellites on the sign posts) and ignoring the actual numbers. While these trails are flowy and fast, there were absolutely no scary features, tech sections or gnarly parts. One of my friends referred to it as a “dirt sidewalk”. I cannot disagree with him, however the trail does have some decent little climbs and fun flowy section that let you just coast with out the fear of any surprises. We started at the Eckhardt Road lot and rode the “Satellite Loop” (Outer loop) in a counter clockwise direction, ignoring the posts numbers. The trails are enjoyed year-round by cyclist, hikers, XC ski, snow shoes and pretty much all forms of pedestrian traffic you can think of. This is very much a shared multi-directional trail. Please ride with caution and respect for all the user groups.
