IMPORTANT NOTE: This is an evidence exhibit exactly as shown to the jury and released by the court on the authority of Superior Court Justice Michael Code. // The suburban Oakville, Ont., home on Montrose Abbey where Mark Smich lived with his mother and sister was searched twice by police, once on May 22, 2012, and again on Dec. 16, 2013. Two officers testified, one each on one of the searches. Now-retired Detective Richard Floriani identified a video and photos from the first search to the jury, entered into the court record as Exhibits #25 and #26. Det.-Const. Kim Seguin did the same for the second search, entered into the record as Exhibit #27A and #27B. It was during one search that Laura Babcock’s luggage and iPad was found in Smich’s bedroom. Dellen Millard, 32, of Toronto, and Mark Smich, 30, of Oakville, have both pleaded not guilty to the 2012 first-degree murder of 23-year-old Babcock.
