In 2005, Funimation began airing its "Ultimate Uncut Special Edition" on Toonami and started releasing the same on home video. A new, "hardcore" opening theme was paired with very red filters and effects for the video. This interpretation is an intentionally over-the-top mix of both the Ultimate Uncut theme and the Faulconer Productions DBZ Theme. ABOUT THE PROJECT: "Dragon Ball Z: Faulconer Re-Mix" is an ongoing project to authentically re-score the Saiyan and Namek Sagas of Dragon Ball Z with the American broadcast score by the team at Faulconer Productions Music. Many brand-new tracks were composed for this episode using the original musical gear and hardware from 1999-2003, including the Alesis QS6, EMU Proteus I & II, Kurzweil K2500, and many key Roland Library sounds. A lot of care was made to make tracks fit and match to-scene, as well as avoid using any tracks from the later Majin Buu Arcs that would come off as anachronistic to deliver a rescore restoration that is as authentic as possible.
