(RARE UP CLOSE)FIRE RAGES in The Bronx !! FDNY Battles 3rd Alarm BLAZE in the sweltering summer heat

~3rd Alarm~ Date: 7/6/2021 Location: Coster Street, Hunts Point Bronx. A few minutes after noon on Tuesday afternoon companies in the Bronx were wrapping up operations at a compactor fire in West Farms when 911 calls started to pour in reporting a fire just south in Hunts Point. The calls reported fire on the top floor of an apartment building with residents beginning to self evacuate down the fire escapes. Battalion 50 who was relocated to the Bronx from Jamaica Queens was informed by Bronx dispatch that the box was being loaded up due to the calls. Ladder 48 arrived first and confirmed a fire with a 10-75 transmission. In nearly 100 degree heat members made their way to the top floor to fight the fire. The blaze spread into the cockloft of the building. Firefighters cut roofs, pulled ceilings, and operated hand lines to eventually extinguish the fire.
