Hey everyone! Here's the next episode of Soloing Secrets with Dickey Betts! I've had a lot of requests to feature more music from Dickie Betts and The Allman Brothers, and while I did create a Three-For-All lesson for Dickey on April 6th, it was 12 days later when the announcement of his passing hit the news. Honestly, it kind of freaked me out, as I had spent a lot of time listening and thinking about Dickey's music and The Allman Brothers in general. Anyway, this lesson has been on the back-burner since last spring and I'm glad to finally create and share this lesson with viewers out there - so let's dive in! This lesson revolves around an assortment of licks/ideas pulled from three Dickey Betts-related albums. This includes sections from songs pulled from the first two Dickey Betts & Great Southern releases, not to mention some additional ideas pulled from the legendary Allman Bros. album Eat A Peach. The ideas shared here include plenty of signature licks and phrases from Dickey's fingers, including lots of expressive string bending and vibrato moves, a slick pentatonic-based "speed lick," a number of repeating licks/phrases, and much more! This includes sections from songs such as Good Time Feeling, One Way Out, Run Gypsy Run, Bougainvillea, Les Brers In A Minor, and much more! Needless to say, if you're a Dickey Betts/Allman Brothers fan, a player wanting to add some historic blues-rock licks/ideas to their bag of tricks, a fan of classic blues-rock guitar, or maybe you're just curious what all the fuss is about - this lesson is totally for you!
