Video shows mounted blade and non-parallel mount, such that when the blade is COMPLETELY tightened down it cuts VISIBLY CROOKED LINES. TAMERICA tech support said (1) I should have bought a more expensive machine if I wanted visibly straight lines, (2) it's close enough as is, and (3) a work-around and acceptable solution is to just use 4 or 5 of the 9 screws. !!! The video also shows that the hole pattern of the mount and the blade are NOT EVEN IN LINE. This might account for the trouble I had in trying to determine a workable screw/non-screw pattern before calling the TAMERICA NON-SUPPORT LINE. I'm a mechanical engineer and both of these points are simply unbelievable as someone who refused to steal client's money and time by offering one thing and delivering another. It's just dignity. Also unbelievable is LAMINATOR.COM: Granted I tossed the box thinking the machine would be fine, and I appreciated Amy of LAMINATOR.COM getting an agreement w/ TAMERICA for me to use a different box, but then others got involved (Nicole I think) and then I BECAME THE VILLAIN. I can't tell you how much time this has cost me, how much rare and creative effort I've put into trying to make it work for all involved, and yet, no thank you, no apology, just blame for not being compliant w/ all of their proposals, the first of which was $50 refund, as if that solves anything!! LAMINATOR.COM (and TAMERICA it appears) went so far as to tell me that if TAMERICA received the GUILLO-MAX back and decided it was acceptable to THEM then I'd got no refund, I'd have to figure out what to do, and I'd have to pay for any additional shipping, as if I'd want a machine that does not cut straight lines. Also, the grid is hard to use. Also, the paint is shiny and slippery and it's hard to hold pieces in place. Also, the blade appears of low quality. The reason I'm posting for you is not really the details, it is the ethos of each company. I recommend avoiding both.
