Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard, CIA Director John Ratcliffe and others will testify before the House Intelligence Committee on Thursday morning on national security threats as the U.S. military operation in Iran nears the three-week mark. The hearing comes a day after Gabbard and Ratcliffe faced tense questioning in the Senate over Operation Epic Fury and how the Trump administration determined Iran posed an imminent threat. The duo largely dodged questions on the action in Iran and to what extent the president was briefed on possible scenarios in the lead-up to the initial Feb. 28 strikes on Tehran. The intelligence chief has also been in the spotlight after Joe Kent, the director of the National Counterterrorism Center, resigned in opposition of the Iran conflict. Kent, who is being investigated by the FBI over allegedly leaking classified information, has argued that Trump was pressured by Israel to join the attacks and an imminent threat "just simply did not exist." The White House has defended Gabbard amid the scrutiny.
