Guys, please click the bell button to get a notification for newly uploaded videos On Saturday, October 19th, 2024, I, Trooper Tanner Seal, was sitting on the north side of US Highway 78 in the town of Dell observing traffic, running radar. While running stationary radar, I heard a motorcycle approaching me from the rear heading westbound at a high rate of speed. I was able to clock the radar and received a reading of 80 MPH in a posted 60 MPH zone. The motorcycle was in the inside lane of travel heading westbound and began to rapidly decrease his speed when he noticed me on the side of the Highway. I attempted to pull off the shoulder, but a white Camaro was traveling westbound in the outside lane of travel causing me to delay my start in an attempt to conduct a traffic stop on the motorcycle. I caught up with the motorcycle at the intersection of US Highway 78 and Highway 181 in Dell and initiated my blue lights to conduct a traffic stop. Immediately after activating my blue lights, the motorcycle accelerated to over 130 MPH while in the outside lane of travel and continued to travel westbound on US Highway 78. I continued to pursue the motorcycle westbound on US Highway 78 into the small community of Roseland, traveling towards the Big Lake Bridge. The motorcycle at one point went onto to the shoulder of the road to avoid hitting another vehicle while we continued westbound towards Manila. The motorcycle driver, later identified as Michael Eaves out of Mississippi began to slow down, changing lanes erratically from the inside lane to the outside lane. While weaving back and forth the speeds of the pursuit were still well above 100 MPH. Once Eaves realized I was close to him, he accelerated to over 125 MPH once again and continued around the curve near Fleeman Road on the eastside of the city of Manila. Once the pursuit passed Fleeman Road, a Manila Police Officer joined in the pursuit, becoming the secondary unit. The Manila Officer was in the inside lane of travel and Eaves almost ran into the rear of the Manila Patrol Unit before failing to signal and passing the Manila Officer in the center turn lane, continuing westbound towards the populated city of Manila. Eaves continued westbound at over 100 MPH coming into the eastside of Manila where the curve has a posted speed limit of 40 MPH. While coming into the curve, Eaves began to move into the turn lane without signaling and began to brake check me multiple times. With the brake checks from Eaves, I could see he was wearing a motorcycle helmet, and a padded and protective jacket meant for motorcycle riders and long pants to protect his lower body. With the extreme speeds that have already been exhibited and the wanton disregard for the life and safety of the citizens of Arkansas, I decided to perform a Legal Vehicle Intervention while speeds were at 35 MPH in an attempt to end the pursuit and minimize injury or life-threatening injuries to the public and Eaves. The Legal Vehicle Intervention was a success, ending the pursuit and Eaves was taken into custody. Emerson Ambulance was contacted and arrived on scene and examined Eaves. Eaves refused treatment on scene, and was transported to the Mississippi County Sheriffβs Department without further incident. It should be noted that Eaves had no visible signs of injury after the incident. The charges for Eaves is Felony Fleeing- charges of substantial bodily injury or death, No motorcycle operators license, Improper Turn Signal, Improper Lane Change/ Usage, No liability Insurance, and Reckless Driving 1st.
