Sahul Sakti - A Blessing - Live at Bar Oussou Part 1

Part 1 of Sahul Sakti's 'Sahul Sakti Gets Psyched' show at Melbourne's world music house, Bar Oussou. Here we play an improvised piece with our percussionist Michel Honneger performing pencak silat (an Indo-Malay martial arts form) as a blessing for our first performance at this venue and to wish good things for us all. With special guests Declan Burgess (Paul Kidney Experience, guitar), Ned Hope (drums), and Eosinti Visuals (VJ). --------------------------------------------- Sahul Sakti is an improvisation ensemble who draws on the members' post-classical, Brazilian, Asia-Pacific, jazz, and experimental music influences to create a sound that is rooted in friendship, imagination, and a deep exploration of acoustic possibilities. This project is inspired by the great global fusion ensembles such as Yo-Yo Ma's Silk Road Ensemble, Shakti, Dr. L Subramaniam, L. Shenkar, Nigel Kennedy, and the Mahavishnu Orchestra.
